This hands-on course is designed for workplaces that want their team to be more than just "aware" of fire safety—they want them to be proficient. It is ideal for staff members, volunteers, or community leaders who may need to act quickly in an emergency.
Unlike purely theoretical courses, this session gives learners the opportunity to actually activate a fire extinguisher, building the muscle memory and confidence needed to tackle a small fire effectively.
Fire Safety Legislation: Understanding the legal requirements for equipment in the workplace.
The Fire Triangle: Learning how fires start and the science behind extinguishing them.
Classes of Fire: Identifying different types of fire (Solid, Liquid, Gas, Electrical) to ensure the correct response.
Equipment & Maintenance
Types of Extinguisher: A deep dive into Water, Foam, Powder, CO2, and Wet Chemical units.
The Fire Blanket: When and how to use a fire blanket for small kitchen or clothing fires.
Servicing & Maintenance: How to check that your equipment is in good working order and ready for use.
Fire Safety Equipment: An overview of other essential onsite safety tools.
Practical Application
Activating an Extinguisher: Guided, hands-on practice in the correct way to trigger and use the equipment.
The PASS Method: Master the "Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep" technique for maximum effectiveness.
Safe Assessment: Learning when it is safe to fight a fire and when it is time to evacuate.
In-House Training: £350 (All-inclusive for up to 14 learners).
Course Length: 1 Hour
Certification: E-certificates are issued upon completion and will be valid for three years
